Robert
Gagliardi was born August 23rd, 1964 in North
Providence, R.I. to Philip and Carolyn Gagliardi. Robert’s
father served as Assistant Executive Director of the Rhode
Island Public Transit Authority in the early 70’s. Because of
this influence, Robert has spent over 18 years devoted to
transportation and IT development, culminating with the taxi,
limousine, coach and paratransit systems in Houston, TX,
Philadelphia, PA, Jacksonville, Fl, West Palm Beach, Fl, Long
Island, NY, Birmingham, AL, Little Rock Arkansas, San Antonio,
TX, Wichita Falls, TX, Yulee/Amelia Island, FL and Clearwater,
Fl. where he has provided leadership skills and consulting
services. During his transportation career, Robert became a
specialist in installation and development of GPS based
computerized vehicle dispatch systems, turning around failing
companies and start up ventures. As General Manager for
Wheelchair Transport Service, Inc. Robert is responsible for
providing wheelchair service and implementation of a PC Based
GPS driven Vehicle Transport and Maintenance system servicing
the paratransit demand response program D.A.R.T. held in
compliance by Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority.
His background and experience has allowed him to participate with very large ADA Transit providers and contractors including Metro Lift, Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County Houston, TX., Coach U.S.A. JTA Connexion, Jacksonville Transportation Authority of Duval County Jacksonville, FL., Palm Tran, and South Eastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority.
Robert is a member of American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, American Public Transportation Association, and American Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations. Robert is also past President of the Beaches Business Association, Jacksonville Beach, FL. He is also a volunteer at Humane Societies throughout Florida and a member of the ASPCA. Also as past President of the Jacksonville Bar and Restaurant Owners Association, successfully organized the first “Rock the Vote” voter sign up event resulting in the largest single sign up of voters in the history of Duval County later to become a national phenomenon. Robert also enjoys Event Organization including KART racing through city streets with shifters resulting in speeds that exceed 100 MPH and Off Shore Boat Racing.
